Outcome of the first meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics

On Wednesday 17 July, the first Council Working Party on Statistics took place in Brussels under the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting was chaired by Ms Eszter Nagy.

In the first part of the meeting, Ms Nagy presented the plans and priorities of the Hungarian presidency for the next 6 months.

Thereafter, the esteemed participants have discussed the European Parliament’s new text on the following dossier: Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on European statistics on population and housing.

The regulation was discussed thoroughly with active participation from the delegations.

Furthermore, the final agenda item was the development of other statistical related dossiers.
